Wakefield Hypnotherapy
Wakefield

Just a few of many of Jonathan Wootton’s satisfied customers.

It's been almost a year now since I went to see Jonathan Wootton to stop smoking and I can say that I haven't touched another cigarette in that time. I smoked for over 40 years and the longest I went without one was a plane journey to America. My brother went to see Jonathan at the same time and he is still a happy non-smoker as well.

It has been exactly a year ago today since I came to see you to stop smoking and not only do I feel fab, but I absolutely hate the smell of cigarette smoke and I'm now one of those annoying ex-smokers :-) Im actually looking forward to the smoking ban in public places which is due shortly and I can go to the pub again, without being irritated by cigarette smoke.

When I came to see Jonathan I felt like I was hanging on by my fingertips to normality. Things I usually took in my stride as a professional working woman and Mum to two girls, had become really scarey and hard to face. I was unhappy in every area of my life, felt out of control, very emotional, my confidence had gone and for the first time in my life I felt old. I had become so bad I had became ill and had to take time off of work. I felt guilty for being off work, felt I was failing my daughters and felt like a total failure.

Going to see Jonathan took a lot of courage, I was very apprehensive (terrified), found it hard to talk without getting upset. Jonathan was very patient, understanding and professional as it took me a while to be honest about how I felt! I have learned a great deal about myself, with Jonathans support and expertise I was able to open up and talk in complete confidence without fear of being judged. It was hard work but so worthwhile for me on many levels to go through what I can only describe as a cathartic experience that is still going on now that I have finished my treatment.

I now feel so much stronger, aware of my needs, not feeling guilty about what I want and need in my life. Recognising that I am human and cannot be all things to all people. I believe that I am a stronger, more balanced person and wil continue to get stronger.

I have changed jobs and my career and am doing something I really enjoy and find fulfilling. For the first time in years I am actually looking forward to going to work!! I have clear goals and a vision of what I would like for my life and I am making gradual changes that will be so good for my daughters and for me.

I cannot thank Jonathan enough and would highly recommend him to anyone who feels that hypnotherapy may be able to help them.
Female chronic anxiety client, Wakefield

"I had been suffering from deepening social anxiety for some time prior to my sessions with Jonathan Wootton. In my view, this was due to low self-esteem and lack of self confidence, despite the fact that, to the outside world, I was a successful self-made businessman and academic. Hypnotherapy has changed my life. My self-esteem has been restored; I like myself a lot more now. My self confidence has gone through the roof. Social situations that I would have avoided in the past, I now relish. Due to huge benefits I obtained from my sessions with Jonathan, I am so much more positive in my thinking in all aspects of my life. I work smarter and better; business has never been as good. My private life is going tremendously well as I have been able to form a new relationship. If you believe you share the same symptoms I presented with, I cannot recommend strongly enough arranging a consultation with Jonathan. Don't put it off, do it today, because it really does work!"

"Analytical therapy (hypnoanalysis) is fantastic. Jonathan is very understanding and works with integrity and openness. I left my therapy finally with a sense of peace. I felt I could conquer the world."
Female from Leeds, who consulted Jonathan with a debilitating problem that had lasted for 20 years.

"Hi Jonathan, Just a quick update. I am going really well with my eating. I haven't weighed myself recently but my clothes are fitting better. I am still amazed to find myself leaving food on my plate when before I would have finished it all and looked round for more! I am also in a new relationship and am convinced that the therapy has helped with this as I had the confidence in myself to say yes. Thanks!!"
Female, Weight Loss client, Leeds.

"I would just like to thank you for your help with treating my 11 year old son's stammer.
He has had a pronounced stammer for 3-4 years now and attended speech therapy on a number of occasions. When we saw your advertisement for hypnotherapy we were a little apprehensive about the benefits it could provide. However, after just one session the change was very noticeable and his stammer has continued to diminish since the therapy. I would recommend any one in a similar situation to give hypnotherapy a try as it has surpassed our expectations."
David Wilkinson, Wakefield.

"It was the best decision I ever made. I have felt absolutely brilliant since I saw him. I have been happy and totally relaxed around cigarettes and I am surrounded by smokers every day."
A Former 30-a-day Pub landlord.

"I am absolutely astounded and amazed that, after 25 years of suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder called trichotillomania (chronic hair pulling), and trying various different treatments to stop, after only eight sessions with Jonathan I am now able to control my my desire to pull. My hair is growing back thick and strong, something which hasn't happened in a very long time. I am so very grateful to be free at last from this very debilitating condition. Thank you so much." A long suffering female obsessive compulsive disorder client from Wakefield.

“I smoked for 30 years and quit easily in one single session with Jonathan as did my son and daughter. We have all found in surprising easy. My daughter has had a few nights out with friends that smoke and she just thought it was a disgusting and horrible habit.”
Janet Crooks, Wakefield.

“I have suffered with stress since I was 18 and have tried allsorts to sort it out. Jonathan made me feel totally at ease, explained how he could help me and did exactly that. He helped me so much. Jonathan was recommended to me and I won’t hesitate in recommending him to others.”

Therapist's runaway success

A PROFESSIONAL hypnotherapist from Wakefield is helping a British athlete overcome his mental hurdles on the way to international success.
Jonathan Wootton, who practises analytical and clinical hypnotherapy, was approached by 3,000m steeplechase runner Mark Warmby last year.

The Huddersfield-based athlete, ranked fourth in Britain, is aiming to become the country's number one this year as he prepares for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

And he believes Mr Wootton, who runs Wakefield Hypnotherapy, on Melbourne Road, St John's, can give him the psychological edge.

He said: "The mental side is so important at the highest level of sport and I have felt it has been my weakness for a long time.

"Jonathan knows my problem well and is confident he can help me. He has watched and keenly observed my competitive performances and told me how he can help and why it has a very good chance of being successful."

Mr Wootton, 32, said Warmby had the ability to be a success on the track, but he needed to develop a positive mental attitude.

He said: "I have a background in elite athletics so I know Mark has the potential - he just needs to realise it.

"In training, he can beat anybody but, when it comes to professional competition, he has a tendency to fall apart.

"Mark's goal is to represent England at next year's Commonwealth Games and, if he makes it, I am hoping he'll take me out there with him as a supporter.
You have to think positive."

Mr Wootton said his technique was targeted to give Warmby success on the track, but most people could benefit from the analytical hypnotherapy he used.

He said: "I take a great deal of satisfaction in helping people through hypnotherapy, whether it is to help someone overcome a phobia, stop smoking or reach their potential.

"At the end of the day, it helps people change their lives.

"It is particularly useful for emotional problems, phobias, anxiety, depression and much more.

"It works on the doctrine of cause and effect. For every effect, let's say a phobia, there has to be a cause.

"With this type of therapy, the client and analyst work together to discover and remove the root cause to bring lasting relief from a problem.

"I take particular pleasure from being able to administer this type of therapy - it can have tremendous results."
